This purpose of this blog is to provide “one-stop-shopping” for news and information that is most relevant to the members and friends of the Great Lakers Chapter of RVing Women.
RVing Women was started in 1991 by Zoe Swanagon and Lovern King during a RV rally in California. The purpose of RVing Women is to provide “opportunities for networking, building friendships, and sharing knowledge” among women age 18 and over who are interested in RVing. Members come from diverse backgrounds and interests throughout the U.S. and Canada.
The Great Lakers’ Chapter of RVing Women was started in 1998 by Nancy Wurm. Today we have dozens of members from several states, many who are now lifelong friends. The Great Lakers meet monthly throughout the year with some time off in the winter. June through September we hold rallies and the other months we meet for lunch at various restaurants in southeast Michigan.
And this is your RVW Great Lakers’ blogger, Karen V. Thought it was about time I put my own photo here 🙂 You can see my motorhome, Ecovision, under “Rigs” and my dog, Henry Boy, under “Pets”. I am an extreme newbie having only gotten Ecovision a year ago. As of this writing (Nov. 21, 2010), I am a few weeks away from “retirement” then off to explore the world with Henry Boy in RV Ecovision. I’ll spent the winter planning out a few major and lots of minor trips in 2011, including most if not all of the Great Lakers rallies plan helping out with the 2011 RVW National Convention in Goshen, Indiana (see “2011 Events”). Hope to see you there! You can email me at dotsy1922 at hotmail dot com.
