Got the word today from Shirley that the planned January 26th Great Lakers gathering in Frankenmuth for the Snowfest has been cancelled. She and Mickey had noted that interest was low. Perhaps winter weather and other busyness kept interest low.
But make sure you stay tuned for information about a February or March 2012 gathering of some kind, some where.
Oh, and a happy new year! Hope your 2012 is starting off as well as mine. That is other than being in the midst of several pretty major home improvement projects that challenge me to be patient and to keep my eye on the prize of a more beautiful living space by Spring.
The truly fun stuff has been hanging out with my son and his family (and of course Henry Boy), starting going to Quaker meeting in Ann Arbor (having been a member of Detroit Quakers for many years), seeing lots of fantastic movies (most often with our Rachel), knitting my mother a pink wool scarf, and starting an intensive digital photography course in Farmington Hills (as I make the final transition kicking and screaming from film to digital–hard to be nearly a beginner after 40 years of photography!). Anyway, I am mostly happily busy despite the smell of paint and mountains of boxes growing with things like tiles and sinks and faucets and light fixtures.
